    Overview

    The purpose of this qualifications is to enable learners to develop the knowledge, skills and competence to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective yoga sessions. Completing this qualification enables learners to access jobs instructing unsupervised yoga sessions.

    Learners will cover:

    • Understand anatomy and physiology for exercise and health
    • Understand the philosophy and fundamentals of yoga
    • How to programme a yoga session How to instruct a yoga session

    There are 9 assessment elements across the 7 mandatory units for this qualification:

      • Principles of exercise, fitness and health
    • Assessment workbook
      • Health, Safety and Welfare in a Fitness Environment
      • Know How to Support Clients Who Take Part in Exercise and Physical Activity
    • Worksheets:
      • Philosophy and fundamentals of Yoga’
    • Yoga practice journal
    • Health and safety planning document and session plan
    • Progressive programme
    • Observation of performance/session evaluation

    This qualification can lead to work as an employed or self-employed yoga instructor. It can also lead to further training at the same or higher levels including:

    • Specialist yoga courses including antenatal and postnatal Pilates.
