Approval Requirements
To become a YMCA Awards approved training provider, centres need to demonstrate they have the right staff and equipment in place to support learners to achieve the qualification.
We recheck this information:
Every autumn as part of our annual registration process
When a new member of staff joins the team delivering a YMCA Awards qualification
When a training provider wants to deliver a new YMCA Awards qualification
During our external quality assurance activities
- A discipline specific qualification at/above the level they plan to teach
- A teaching qualification.
Examples of teaching qualifications include:
- A discipline specific qualification at/above the level being delivered.
- An assessing qualification.
Examples of assessing qualifications include:
- A discipline specific qualification at/above the level being delivered.
- An internal quality assurance qualification.
Examples of IQAs include:
Main Contact — someone with overall responsibility for the management of YMCA Awards’ programmes within the centre. This will be our first point of contact for all matters relating to delivery and quality assurance of our qualifications.
Exams Officer — someone with overall responsibility for scheduling external assessments and maintaining the confidentiality of assessment materials.
