Become a YMCA Awards Centre - YMCA Awards
  • Become a YMCA Awards Centre

Our approved training providers have enabled more than 350,000 learners to advance their careers with YMCA Awards qualifications. Continue reading to discover how you can become an approved centre and join the family.

    Step 1: Review our requirements

Before you start your application, you will need to have an idea of how you plan to teach, assess and quality assure any qualifications you’re approved to deliver. We’ve listed the key requirements for approval below. Each requirement has a link to information and guidance to help you understand our expectations of approved centres.

Tutor, assessor and quality assured requirements
    Qualification Requirements
Teaching and delivery location (site) requirements
    Policy and procedure requirements
Delivery Model (face-to-face, blended, distanced) and systems in place to support learner, monitor learner progress and manage provision

Step 2: Speak to the team

Book a video call with one of the team to begin the process. We’ll set up your application in our online system and identify which sections we need you to complete. The team will be able to talk you through qualifications that best fit your plans and provide guidance on approval timeframes, costs, resources and support available.

    Step 3: Submit Evidence

As part of the application process we’ll work with you so that you understand the supporting evidence you need to provide to progress your application.  As a minimum, you’ll need to submit evidence for your teaching, assessment and IQA team, provide copies of your policies and procedures and key contact information for your organisation.  You’ll also need to accept our Centre Agreement/Terms & Conditions for Approved Centres.

Step 4: Take part in evaluation

Once we’ve confirmed you’ve got the right people and policies in place, we’ll arrange an evaluation visit or call with one of our External Quality Assurers (EQAs). During evaluation, our EQA will review the systems and processes you have in place to support learners through their learning journey. This is also an opportunity for you to ask specific questions about delivery arrangements and get support on getting up and running as quickly as possible.
