Overview
By completing this qualification, learners will meet industry requirements to become a Group Exercise Instructor – in the context of Pilates – as set out within the CIMSPA Core Group Exercise Instructor professional standard. The purpose of this qualifications is to enable learners to develop the knowledge, skills and competence to plan, deliver and evaluate safe and effective Pilates sessions. Completing this qualification enables learners to access jobs instructing unsupervised Pilates sessions.
Qualification details
Learners will cover:
- Anatomy and physiology required when exercise programming and designing for a range of clients.
- Importance of professionalism, customer service, effective communication and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge and understanding of commonly occurring medically controlled diseases and health conditions.
- Understanding the principles and fundamentals of Pilates.
- How to plan and programme a Pilates session for groups and individuals. How to deliver a Pilates session.
There are 10 assessment elements across the 6 mandatory units for this qualification, with an additional 2 assessment elements for the optional unit:
